Clinical audits provide us with useful information with which we can improve patient care, systems management, and avoid errors. As a department, we believe in the importance of clinical audit, and aim to help each member of the department complete at least one audit cycle per year.


An "Audit Manual" is available to all our staff members and will assist you through the process of choosing an audit project to completion of the audit cycle.


Step 1

Once you have selected a topic and a supervisor, please complete STEP 1 below (online form) to log your audit with the department. 


Step 2

With the help of your supervisor, perform the data collection and audit process. Complete STEP 2 below (online form) to submit your findings to the department. Additional images/ graphs etc should be emailed to


Step 3

Present the information at one of the academic meetings to plan implementation of changes, new checklists etc. Discuss a suitable date for the Friday Morning Meeting with Dr Colin Mitchell. 


Step 4

Re-audit after implementation of the action plan.
